Many times, the labels applied to Civil 3D objects are designed to annotate a single entity. While this is nice, it’s important to note that Civil 3D labels can display data from multiple objects. In today’s installment, we’ll explore the concept of “Reference Text”.
Reference text allows labels to annotate the properties of two (or more) Civil 3D objects. In my example, I walk through a workflow using reference text to create a single label that displays data associated with two different alignments. While I used alignments for my example, reference text is not limited to alignments, the component can be found within many of Civil 3D’s label styles.
