By now, most of you have at least heard of the integration that Civil 3D has with Autodesk's flagship visualization product, 3ds Max. While the quality of visuals that Max produces isn't an everyday need for most civil users, it is still a great tool in the box for when a realistic image or animation is needed. Thanks to the Civil View add-in that is delivered with Max, the process for moving data from Civil 3D to Max is something that most users can handle. Same thing goes for animating cameras along a path defined by Civil 3D: the Civil View tools in Max pretty much take care of everything. Today's video is about the situation where you need to create a flyover camera that doesn't have a pre-defined linear path. This is by no means the only way to create these target cameras and experienced users of 3ds Max will probably scoff. However, every time in the past I've tried the more "advanced" methods-I end up failing.
