The construction plan sets for most civil infrastructure projects include “text heavy” sheets containing specifications and requirements for items such as utilities, pavement, erosion control, grading and restoration. Typically, notes and specifications are presented in list form, using a combination of numbered and bulleted lists to organize the major topics and sub items.
Fortunately, Civil 3D provides powerful list management tools to help organize even the most complex collection of specifications. For example, if a user adds or removes items (or sub items) from a list, all affected items are renumbered (or re-lettered) automatically, while maintaining perfect alignment and formatting. In many ways, Civil 3D provides the power and flexibility of a word processor within the civil design environment.
If you are interested, I’ve created a quick video that walks through some ways you can take advantage of the bulleted and numbered list functionality inside Civil 3D.
