In today’s entry we’ll explore a new Civil 3D 2017 feature that can help automate style management across multiple drawings.
On occasion, you may need to add or modify the styles in a Civil 3D template. Historically, it has been challenging to push those updates out to existing production drawings. Fortunately Civil 3D 2017 makes this task much easier through the use of a reference template.
The reference template feature allows you to “link” a Civil 3D template (the company CAD standards template for instance) to your production drawings. After making this connection, any style changes made in the company template will automatically be reflected in all drawings that reference the company template.
If you are interested, I’ve created a quick video that walks through a workflow using the reference template feature.
